It was a quick and last minute getaway. Celebrating my travel buddy's birthday. She wanted to go for an oversea trip but all flight will be expansive if you book last minute. What else is new right.
So we just googled on any 5 star hotels in Malaysia. One of our target is if we want to go for a holiday in the country, it must be a 5-star hotel. Not every time though, depending on the budget.
With the new Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT) it took us approximately 4 hours drive to reach Tanjong Jara Resort, which was located at Dungun, Terengganu. I got a bit confused with the road since the last time I was in Dungun was maybe 20 years ago? I dunno. It was really a long time ago.
Anyway, I booked the hotel from booking.com. The total price for the 3 Days 2 Nights stay was RM1,188.00.
I love the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the hotel. Not that eerie-haunted-hotel kind of quiet but the quietness that give you peace of mind. And the beach was not crowded at all! Major love ❤ and the cabana, seriously I can just fall asleep in the cabana while listening to the sound of the sea waves.
We are lazy people so we love to dine in by ordering room service. Too bad the hotel did not have any room service menu in the room. You have to call them and they will send someone to bring the menu and wait for you to choose what you want to order. Tedious and kind of menyusahkan. Minus one point for this.
There was two swimming pools or was it three? Can't remember. But the one facing the sea, the infinity pool was the best.
I love the breakfast buffet. I was spoilt for choice. Other than the normal bread, omelette, fruit juice, cereal, they also serve local food like nasi dagang, nasi minyak, lempeng kelapa, laksa and roti canai amongst others. Oh, you need to eat their croissant, freshly baked from oven. I am a huge fan of croissant. Pastu tengah sedap2 makan, there will be a bunch of kompang geng making round. For what reason I dunno. Kejutkan orang bangun tidor kot.
At night, it can be quite dark and eerie-haunted-hotel kind of quiet. Both being penakut, buah kelapa jatuh pun we all dah menjerit. Haha. Dasar penakut. Our room was quite far from the restaurant so yeah, it was quite a distant to walk in the dark. There was lights around the walkaway but it was so dimmed.
Anyway, we had a great time. Too short of stay to discover the neighbouring area. Most of the time was spent lazying at the cabana doing nothing.
